Android enrollment types

After performing the initial steps associated with your enrollment path, you can start enrolling your managed devices by choosing the applicable Android enrollment type. Start by ensuring that your device users have sufficient roles in KACE Cloud. Then, complete the enrollment steps associated with the desired enrollment type.

To better understand the available Android device types in KACE Cloud, review the following guidelines.

  • Android enrollment types:
    • New devices: Enrollment for company-owned devices purchased through an authorized reseller can be automated using KACE Cloud. This includes company-owned, personally-enabled (COPE) Android devices. For more information, see:
    • Devices not purchased through reseller: Enrollment for devices not purchased through an authorized reseller can be completed using the afw#setup (AMAPI) or afw#kace (EMM) tag process. For more information, see:
    • Personal devices (BYOD): Personal Android devices can be enrolled in KACE Cloud by setting up an Android Work Profile. For more information, see:
    • Samsung Knox enrollment:
      • New Devices: Before configuring and enrolling devices in Samsung Knox, you will need to:
        • Request access to Samsung Knox Mobile Enrollment and purchase devices from an authorized reseller.
        • Create a profile to meet your specific device enrollment requirements.
